Eiman Jahangir, MD, MPH, is a cardiologist and Professor of Medicine and Radiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, where he combines clinical practice with an active research career. He earned his medical degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine, completed his internal medicine residency at Boston University Medical Center, and finished his cardiovascular fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He has authored more than fifty peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on heart health.
On August 29, 2024, Jahangir became the first Iranian American man to fly to space, aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard (NS-26). His passion for spaceflight traces back to childhood visits to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. He brings hands-on experience in astronaut training and flight payload operations.
Beyond medicine and spaceflight, Jahangir advises and invests in companies working at the intersection of human health and aerospace. As a keynote speaker, he draws on both careers to share lessons on resilience, overcoming self-doubt, and pursuing purpose-driven goals.
